Zone Studies

It was a beautiful day in the Urdaneta Mission.

Three Monday mornings of the month, each zone meets together for zone studies. The zone leaders and district leaders teach from the six-month study plan and the missionaries practice their language skills. President Monahan and I often visit zones during their zone studies. These pictures are of the Urdaneta Zone during their language session.....
After zone studies, the missionaries leave to do their preparation day activities, such as....writing emails and letters, shopping, laundry, a friendly game of basketball, cleaning their apartments and other things to prepare for the coming week.  Preparation day ends at 6 p.m., then back to work.

  1. Last time I commented on the blog you got back to me very quickly. Since I don't have an email for you, I thought I would try this again. I am trying to send a package to my son, Elder Bigelow. I am going thru LBC and they need an actual address not a PO Box. Can you please let me know what that address is? Thanks.

  2. I have the same concern about the address. Also many parents do not know about this blog. I randomly found it today while looking up the areas news. It is amazing and should be shared! Thank you.

    1. Thank you for your comments. I'm so happy that parents, family members and friends can enjoy the blog. In regard to the address: The address is identical. The difference is--when using a Philippines shipper such as LBC, Atlas or ForEx, you must OMIT the P.O. Box because those companies deliver directly to the Mission Office, not to the Urdaneta Post Office. When using the U.S. Postal Service, include the P.O. Box because those letters, packages, etc. will be delivered to the Urdaneta Post Office (P.O. Box 7). We retrieve mail from the post office twice a week. In addition, when mailing boxes through USPS, it is required that you individually list the contents on the Declaration Form, instead of using general descriptions like "missionary supplies." The Philippines shipping companies allow you to write a general description: "Personal affects and missionary supplies." Either way, be sure to write "GIFT." In regard to sharing the blog: I give our missionaries the blog address or "link" so they can email it to their families and friends. Missionaries are not permitted to view my blog or any other blog (until they go home), so the only reason for me to give them the blog address is for them to share it with families and friends. Hopefully, this information is helpful. When leaving a comment, if you give your missionary's name, I can respond to the personal email we have on file.
